Super Bowl in No Time!

So, I had no plans for Super Bowl Sunday. I expected to watch the game with my dad and brother, lay on the couch and down a bag of chips. But at 5:30 in the afternoon, my cousins, who had been invited for lunch said "Turn the TV on" and I found myself hosting an impromptu Super Bowl Party!
So what do you do when you have at least five hours to fill, 4 guys to feed and an empty fridge? Here's what I did:

First of all, thank God for our big lunch! That gives you at least an hour and a half to prepare yourself and only offer drinks, which thankfully, I had enough of!
I did a quick inventory and found a jumbo pack of franks, ketchup, mayo, mustard, half a bag of Chip Scoops, an avocado and hot sauce.

So I started boiling the franks and whipped up some pink sauce. Cut the franks in small bites and served with toothpicks. What a hit!

For the chips, I cut some avocado, added a few drops of olive oil, some salt and hot sauce. Best guacamole ever!

I kept that coming for a while...and my cousins will be over next year for Super Bowl Sunday! I'll make sure to have the pool warmed up, the grill ready and enough food to feed the army of four!
Remember, hosting a party is possible, on virtually any budget and time of preparation! You just need to focus and make unique creations :)

Baby Shower Frenzy!

This is the problem...once I get hooked on an event, I forget about everything else! I´ve been making lists (my fave!), looking for ideas, vendors, and I even made an invite draft! Once it´s done, I´ll post a picture of it...& not because I made it, but It´s adorable!

The guest list is at 15, which helps me stay on a low-budget! (Thumbs up!) and I´ve found inexpensive vendors, so I think I´ll be able to stay under budget! (Very good news!!)

I´ll be hitting the Dollar Store, Michaels Craft Store, WalMart and Target this weekend and hopefully I´ll be able to find all the supplies I need. I was also told I can find inexpensive tea pots at Pier One Imports, I´ll make sure to check that out as well!

I´m having a hard time deciding on the party favors and game prizes, but oh well! I still have some time to figure it out.

Remember, take advantage of your inspiration climax and write everything down! Anything (and I mean anything, a word, a drawing, a store!) can help you later on tie an event together.

Tea Time Baby Shower

My aunt/sister/best friend is having her second baby girl and is visiting in less than a month! I´ve taken it upon myself to plan a last minute Tea Time themed Baby Shower for Baby Isabella :)

Some Inspiration

Yummy Cucumber Tea Sandwiches

¨It is among the most common choices of tea sandwich. Peel and thinly slice the cucumber and lightly sprinkle some salt on the slices. In another bowl prepare a mix of lemon juice, olive oil and freshly ground pepper and then pour this mixture over the cucumber slices. Take another bowl and combine the butter and freshly minced garlic. Now spread the butter and garlic mix over the bread slices and arrange the cucumber slices in one layer on 1 slice and then top this with another one. Remove the crusts and cut into quarter pieces.¨ - ifood.tv
Must-Read before the event

I´ll make sure to keep you posted on the progress and share pictures of the final result. Remember, inspiration can be found anywhere! In this case, Alice in Wonderland :) Too bad her name will be Isabella and not Mad Hatter!
